DUNEDIN, This Day,
The "Otago Daily Times" says:—
"If a doubt may legitimately be expressed concerning tho need of the appointment of afresh Minister in Mr. Jones's place, any suggestion that the numerical strength of the Government should bo increased should bo dismissed promptly from consideration on the ground that the appointment of additional Ministers is not called for; that judicious distribution of Ministerial offices will admit of the political control of the various Departments being effectively exercised by a Government of tho numerical strength of tho present Government; and that in these circumstances any increase in the number of Ministers would involve tho country in needless and unjustifiable expenditure of the public, funds."
