One first ofi'euder for drunkenness, who had spent the night in the cells, was convicted and discharged. For her third offence of drunkenness within six months, Annie Winifred Dunn, aged 71. was fined 10s, in default three days' imprisonment. The theft of an overcoat valued at £7 7s from the National Club was admitted by John William Keand, a labourer, aged 33. He was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment, and was allowed a week to pay. Daniel O'Sullivan, aged 32, and John Patrick Keown, aged 3.5, were each fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment, for their fifth statutory offences of drunkenness. A similar penalty was imposed on John Joseph Buckley, aged 52, who admitted his fourth offence. A fine of £3, in default twenty-one days' imprisonment, was imposed on Richard Henry O'C'onnell. aged 51, who appeared for the sixth time within six months on a charge of drunkenness. Arising out of his collidiug with a tramcar at Karori, a charge of negligently driving his motor-car was nade against \\ illiam Ernest Trott. He was fined £10 and the cost?, £1 !R Pleading guilty to writing on the War Memorial advertising ;. demonstration, Frederick Pcrrin was fined £o and the costs. JOs. Jlr; was nllmved a month in which to find the money. On a charge of being lowid on licensed premises after hours, Keginald Morton Semb was fined £2 and the costs. 10s.
