OLYMPIC CLUB'S REPORT
''The performances of our runners, both senior and junior, were of a very high standard, and if the same attention is paid to training ,this coming season, there is every chance, of several of our younger members reaching the first flight," states the ninth annual report of the Olympic Amateur Athletic Club, to be presented with the balance-sheet at the annual meeting, to-morrow evening. "Our held events men played a very prominent part in the elub-'s activities,'and their nianyisncceh'sesy particularly the fine victories achieved byI Mr. Frank Jones over Mn Rothcrt, the- ! American athlete, at Masterton last January ,->. were performances of great merit." •Reference is made to the performances iirtlie events of A. K. Hill and ■£7Tsade, who, it is stated, competed1 with • credit to tlje club, and to the fact that, the relay team (Messrs. Ogg, Campbell, M'Nicol, Glover, and M'Greevy) won the ' Ileenan Baton for the first "time in the club's history. In tho contest for the , M'Villy- Shield the club finished in second place. Although represented at tho first meeting, tho club did not enter a team for the second Dewar Shield meeting, owing, it is stated, to certain events being duplicated and the deletion of others most suitable to the club. In view of the fact that the centre did hot make "the required monetary grant," the club also did not hold an evening meeting during the past season: The balance-sheet shows that tho club started the' season with a credit of £10 13s 6d. The credit balance now in hand is 1£3.15s 3d. •
