UNCERTIFICATED TEACHERS
It was stated at a meeting of th§ Wellington Education Board to-day that although one month ago there wero one hundred and forty-four uncertin'cated teachers in small schools in NewZealand, there ivero only two such teachers in tho whole of the Wellington district. From, the beginning of next year, there would bo none, the board having decided to give notice to them, and to advertise the positions. Tho board, it was stated, had experienced no difficulty in getting fully trained and certificated teachers for oven tho small grade O schools, i.e., schools with, an average attendance of from four to eight pupils.
