The Rev. and Mrs. K. H. Owen wera passengers by the Monowai yesterday; afternoon for Sydney.
Sir Newton Moore, M.P. for Richmond in the House of Commons, and «. former Premier ol West Australia, accompanied by Lady Moore and Mis§ Moore, left Wellington yesterday afternoon by the Monowai for Australia. They will spend some time iv the Commonwealth before returning to England.
Dr. J. W. M'ilraitji, senior inspector of the Wellington Education district, is being transferred, as from the beginning of next year, to the position of senior inspector of the Auckland education district. Mr. W. J. Boden is to act as senior inspector till a successor to Dr. M'llraith is appointed. Mr. A. N. Burns, of the Wellington inspectorate, is to retire at the end of the year, and will be succeeded by Mr. E. Partridge (Wanganui).
