CMC LEAGUE

VOGELTOWN AND MORNINGTON

At the monthly meeting of the Vogeltown and Mornington Electors' Association the following members of the Civic League attended: Mr. J. H. Whittaker, president Mrs. E. J. Moore, vice-president; Mr. C. F. Lethaby, Mr. F. W. MoOre, members of the executive; and Mr. H. B. Searle, secretary. Mr. J. Staples, president,.welcomed the visitors on behalf of the association.

Mr. Whittaker, in a brief address in reply to Mr. Staples, outlined the functions of the league, pointing out that the executive were mainly.composed of members of affiliated associations, and that the council of the league were all members of suburban associations, Mr. Whittaker stressed the point that the league bad to consider the city as a whole before giving support to proposals advocated by members. Mrs. Moore also spoke, remarking on the progress the district was making. Mr. Moore and Mr. Lethaby also addressed the meeting, touching on transport and lighting. Mr. Searle gave a brief sketch of the early work of the league and why it was formed. A short general discussion took place and the feeling was expressed that sucb visits made for a better understanding between the league and the various associations. A vote of thanks to the visitors, moved by Mr. Eussell, was carried by acclamation. .
