In its monthly review of the financial position of Australia, the National Bank of Australasia stated that m the past month tho internal trade position had shown no improvement. The uplift in prices since Groat Britain had departed from the gold standard had not yet affected any but export industries. The report states that it is hard to escape the consequences of our past extravagant" borrowing, but it is felt that the increase in the prices of wool and wheat could be mado tho basis for a. return to prosperity. Seasonal conditions throughout Australia have been almost uniformly good.
