PLIMMERTON BOATING CLUB
The fact that sailing activities during the past season were somewhat curtailed owing to many members putting their efforts into the erection of a new clubhouse was mentioned in the report presented at the annual meeting of the Plimmerton Boating Club on Saturday evening. , It was stated that the clubhouse had been completed, and prospects for a successful season were very favourable. From a social point of view, the past season had been very gratifying, about £45 being raised from a series, of dances. Deep regret was expressed at the death of Captain G. Hooper, who, as president of the club, had devoted a great deal of time to its interests. Officers were elected as follows for the ensuing season: Patron, Mr. Barnes; president, Mr. R. L. Button; commodore, Mr. A. H. Mildenhall; vice-commodore, Mr. A. W. Thompson; club captain,. Mr. P. H. Bryant; vice-captain, Mr. G. -Redward; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Waddcll; assistant hon. secretaries and treasurer, Messrs. A. Waddell and W. T. Thompson; general committee, Messrs. F. Bryant, 11. W. Thompson, Barron, and Sherning.
