Birkenhead I'ark defeated Liverpool, 22-3; Blackheath defeated Old Paulines, 27-3; Bristol defeated Devonport Services, 17-10; Cambridge University defeated Old Leysians, 35-0; Gloucester defeated Leicester, 12-0; Harlequins and Portsmouth Services drew, 6 points-each; Newport defeated Blackheath, 18-6; Richmond lost to Northampton, 9-10.
