SYONEY CONVENTION ENDS STIRRING SCENES (Received 25th August, 11 a.m.s SYDNEY, This Day. Scenes of solemnity marked thd closing rally of the Christian Endeavour Convention when the Eev. Lionel Fletche?, who delivered an address, eon* secrated a large number of young men and women to the woTk of this movement. Mr. Fletcher described the cob-. vention as the greatest held in. Australia from the viewpoint of number* and spirituality. He said that -whiW he did not wish to appear as a, kIU-joy^ he would like to express tho hope that young peoplo would not allow tb* vanities of life to spoil the haimonj; of their spiritual life. The Bey. Varco© Cocks, the retiring national president, presented in Mi, Fletcher a bound volume of the eon» vention proceedings. Mr. Fletcher in* ducted the new officers, the Key. S. E. Dormaa as national president, aai& the Bey. V. Coefcs as deputy. A demonstration by juniors Jn the Town Hall was pteeeded by a procession, in the city streets. It was a notable gathering, marked by stirring; addresses and tableaux.
