Nelson owed their victory to a drop kick by Richards, who eauie up from fullback lo live-eighths, replacing Karstcu who was unable to play. Spcncc scored the opening try, which Arthur failed to convert. Kichards drop-kicked a goul midway through the second halt", putting Nelson a point in the lead. M'Arthur made a nice opening to send Watson and Kowe away, the last-named scoring. Though the score in the big match is decidedly in favour of Wellington College, AVanganui College put up a much better showing than is indicated. They held the Wellington forwards for most of the (irst spell and portion of the second, when they tired. Wanganui College scored first Bunny kicking a penalty goal. Watt scored a brilliant try for Wellington, and a little later O'Loughlin kicked a penalty goal, putting Wellington three points ahead. Kirkealdie scored later, and the teams were level again. Cover cut through to score a try near the posts. Bunny converted. Wanganui College IX, Wellington College 6. O'Loughlin kicked another penalty goal, making the score at halftime 11 points to 9 in favour of Wanganui College. In the second spell O'Loughlin scored two more tries, converted two. and kicked a penalty goal. Sadlicr and Watt scored n try each. I'aylou scored a try for Wang.-inui College. Although, on paper the two teams were fairly evenly matched, the AVanganni Collegiate School Old Boys beat the Combined Colleges Old Boys by 40 points to S in a match to-day. The teams were:—Wanganui College Old Boys: Trotter, White, Pleasants, Stecle, Glendinning,' Levin, Williams, Franklin, Blythc, ■ Gardiner, Shaw, Cameron,- 'Rainbow, BullockDouglas, and Bunny. ■• Combined Colleges Old Boys: J. In the forwards the visitors were more than held, but when it came to back, play they wcro definitely superior. Wellington and AVairarapa now have one win and a draw each, AVanganui one win and a loss, and Manawatu two losses. More than a hundred clubs and schools in England are affiliated to the AA romcn's Cricket Association. Several "county" matches wcro arranged for this season.
