AUCKLAND V. SOUTHLAND
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, ISth July. A Rugby representative match between Auckland and Southland, played to-day, resulted in a somewhat lucky win for Auckland by 6 points to 5. The ground was on the heavy side after rain. The Southland forwards played a great game, overshadowing .the local pack, es-pecially'-in .tight and loose rushes. It was an uninspiring match, neither set o£ backs combining well. Southland; playing with rather a strong wind,-led by 5 to nil at half-time—a try by Southern, converted by Porter. In the second spell Stuart secured an unconverted try for Auckland, and -Da vies kicked a penalty, goal.'
