THE LATE MRS. SEDDON
In his sermon at St. Paul's ProCathodral last evening, Bishop Bennett paid a beautiful tribute to the late Mrs. Seddon. - Ho spoke of the family life of earlier days, when ho knew both Mr. and Mrs. Seddon well. Theirs, he said, was an ideal household, with both parents taking their part finely, and bringing up their children well, to make good citizens and good . church-people. The atmosphere of the home was beautiful, and Bishop Bennett spoke of Mrs. Scddoii as a "wonderful woman, and a Mother in Israel."
The Mayor (Mr. T. 0. A. Hislop), Councillor Mcadowcrof t, and the Town Clerk (Mr. E. P. Norman) represented the City Council at the funeral of Mrs. Seddon on Saturday. There wore also present the Consul for Italy (Cay. Bott. G. Formiehella), and the Consul for Belgium (Mr. A. Nihotte). Wreaths were received froni the Reform Party and from Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Coates. Flags wore flown at half-mast, ou the various Government buildings. Messages of sympathy have been' received from Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloe, the Prime Minister and his colleagues, the Loader of the Opposition (the Eight Hon. J. G. Coates), the Leader of the Labour Party and members of the Labour Party in Parliament., South 'African' War Veterans, AVelliugton Returned' 'Soldiers', Consul for (ho Netherlands, and Dame Christina Massoy
