UMPIRES INSULTED
AN APOLOGY REQUESTED

Following remarks made by two members at a meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association reflecting on the competency of - Canterbury umpires, the Canterbury Umpires' Association decided last evening to ask the Canterbury Cricket Association if it agreed with those opinions, and to point out that it-was considered that a direct apology was duo from the two men concerned.
Several, speakers, said that the remarks were insulting.
