Total catalogues offered ut the July series of woo] sales to-ilny auiounted to 10,020 bales, including 3581 bales of New | Zealand. Approximately IHSO bales were sold. Withdrawals were almost entirely of slipes. ' '■ . There was a large attendance of buyers, and a good representative selection of wools. Competition may be described as keen and general. Compared with May closing rates, merinos, combing, and Yorkshire sorts declined 5 per cent.; short Continental sorts were cheaper by Vfc per cent,; faulty, crirbouising, and short pieces were down 10.per cent.; crossbreds, fine, down 5 per cent.; medium, easier by 7% to 10 per cent.; low and coarse crossbreds were down by 10 per cent to 15 per cent. Slipes were erratic, and declined in price on closing May rates by VM to 15 per cent. Realisations were: New Zealand greasy crossbreds, "Tawanui," 6%d to 6d; Clon Keen, 6d to 59id; Eyebrow over "8." 6%d to 5 7-8 d; Wairire, 7d to 6%d; "Hopa," 7d to 6%d.
