HOCKEY INVADERS
RUGBY GROUND CAPTURED

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
"On one of the football night-train-ing grounds at North Hagley Park, on an evening, last week, there were two complete girls' hockey teams playing," reported Mr. L. Thomson to the meeting of the, management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union.
"Were they'nice girls?" asked the chairman (Mr. A. E. M'Phail), amidst •laughter, which was continued when Mr. Thomson answered in tho affirmative. " . . ■
In answer to questions, Mr. Thomson said tlnit the girls had possession of tho ground for over ah hour, and completed'a game, footballers being kept off the playing arcu during that period. Another member mentioned that besides liockey girls, players of other codes Lad played on the ground without any right to do so. The chairman said it was essential that order should be maintained on the ground, and so that this should be attained it was decided to write to the caretaker, and, if necessary, to the Hockey Association. .. . ■
