NEW YORK, 27th June.

.The whole of the United Stales east of the Rocky fountains' is held in the grip of a heat wave, which resulted to-day in 75 deaths from prostration and 70 from the drowning of those who sought relief in water. At Boulder Dam-(Colorado) the temperature is reported to ba 120 degrees, at Phoenix (Arizona) 110 degrees, and Nebraska (North Dakota) 104, and in at least ten other States at 100 degrees. Now York City had tho hottest 27th Juno for 33 yoars. A tropical storm in the Caribbean is considered likely to endanger Texaa, while heavy hailstorms havo done no inconsiderable damage at Maine. Sovorc rain and electrical storms struck Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
