WESLEY 3, HUTT 1.
The. ground for 'the Hutt-Wesley game jras not conducive to brilliant play. The final score was 3-1 in Wesley's favour. Play from the initial bully was patchy, and there was quite-a lot of misß-hitting. Hutt then pressed hard, and M'Leod scored with a good shot from the right. Wesley then carried play to the other end, and Frethey netted and brought the score np to 1 all. There was no .further score at half-time. "'.•■■ j ' Upon resumption both teams settled down, and a better standard of hockey •was shown. Wesley had the better of the game this half, Hutt being on the defensive most of the time., Giles scored for Wesley, a"nd shortly afterwards Phillpotts scored a further goal from a penalty corner. Hutt -made strenuous efforts to' score, but- the Wesley backs were defending solidly, and kept the ball well upfield. The game ended with; the score: Wesley S, Hutt 1. Dr; Hi.ekey1 and Mr. H. Smith jvere the referees.
