.Mr. and Mrs. Haiold Johnston,' Hobson street, who. have been visiting Gisbornc, returned to Wellington to-day. I ilis. D. W. Duthio, Heretaunga, left last week for Auckland, where she will i spend some months with her daughter, Mrs. Abbott, Mi. and Mrs. John Duncan, Herotaunga, who have been Visiting Hotorua, | returned to Wellington, last evening. Mis. James Findlay, Grant road, is j spending a fortnight's holiday in Auckland. I Mrs. E. E. Tripe, Selwyn terrace, who , has "been visiting hoi1 mother," Mrs. Douglas. Williams, Hawkes Bay, returned to Wellington to-day. Mrs. V. Campbell, Rcmiiera, Auckland, is a visitor to Wellington. Miss Jessie Elliott, Kent terrace, will leave to-night for Christehurch to attend the, Men^iea-Actou-Adams wedding. She will return to Wellington on Wednesday morning. Miss D. Nairn left Wellington last week for Christehurch. Miss Joan Prebble, Sf. Albans, Christchurch, and her ■■ brother, Lieutenant H.M. Prebblo, arrivedi in Wellington on Friday, and will leave for Sydney to-morrow by the Maunganui. Miss Margaret Lance has roturned to Christchurch after paying a visit to the North Island. Miss Kioie King, pioducer for tho Christchurch Repertory Theatre Society, arrived in Wellington on Friday, and is spending a few days with Mrs. W. Whitlock before leaving for Hastings. She will spend several weeks there with her. father, Mr. G. K. King. Among the New Zealandeis recently in London, "The Post's" ropresentativo mentions the following Wellington people: Miss J. P. Hutchen, Mr. and Mrs. R. lh Maoalister, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ince, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mayor, Mrs. M. Maekin, Mr. L. i\ Clay, Miss E. M'Kittrick, and Mr. J. E. M'Cale. Also Sir Louis and Lady Barnctt (Ofcago), and Dr. E. Denny G. Gillies (Palmerston North).

Much sympathy will be expressed in New Zealand for Major and Mrs. E. S. Hunter Blair, of Dnns, Berwickshire, who have sustained severe bereavement through the''death of their youngest son, Mr. KegLnald Eustace Hunter Blair, ( who was drowned at Wattegodde, Ceylon, on 17th May, writes "The Post's" London correspondent. Major Hunter Blair has had a, cable from his brother iv Ceylon, saying that in 'the ovening his son was bathing in a pool in the Wattegodde Kiver' with two friends. He was swept over the fall at the bottom of the pool into the rapids below, where"ihe niust have been almost instantaneously killed. His body was recovered next day, and he was' buried' at-'Linduta 'Church. The deceased, who was only 1)7 years of age, was to have come to England this summer, to' marry ,Miss Margot Abercromby M'Leod on SSth July. Their engagement was. announced last January, Mr. Hunter Blair was a nephew of Colonel tho Hon. Sir E. Heaton Rhodes, and a brother of Lieut.Commander Ronald , Hunter Blair, D.S.C., E.N., of H.M.S. Laburnum.
