A statement that the prices ol' goods of all classes would be lowered' considerably if rates of exchange.'.returned" to normal was made by Mr. D.' Robertson, assistant-general, manager of the Farmers' Trading Company, Ltd., Auckland, at the annual meeting of shareholders.-The.prese-nt adverse rate's of exchange added ISVs per cent; to the price of -imported goods, as against the'usual cost 'of about 2% to 2% per cent. The company had paid about £10,000<last; year jn additional-exchange. "However,' it is not'all1 the wrong 'way," said Mr. Robertson.. "It is a good thing for the farmer, who. needs every little assistance he can get at tho present time."
