PERMANENT MAN WANTED

KHANDALLAH FIRE

STATION

A request for a. permanent man _ to be stationed at the Khandallah Fire Station was made to the "Wellington Fire Board to-day, by Mr. D. G. Clark and Mr. S. "Wright, representing the Khanclallah Progressive Association. Mr. Clark said he hoped the board would consider the request, because there had been several fires in the'district recently. The man who was stationed there now. was purely a voluntary worker. The association had contributed a certain amount towards a new lire engine in the district, but there was no one in charge of if. The chairman (Mr. N. AY. Nelson) said that the board fully appreciated what Khanclallah had done in raising money towards. the purchase of the new engine, and said that the matter would be considered.
