JARDINE AS CAPTAIN
(.Received 15th June,-11 a.m.) LONDON, 3.4 th. June, Tale, itt an article in ".Reynold's News," welcoming tho appointment of iTardine to the captaincy against the New Zealanders, says that it would be premature to assume that he would lead England against Australia, but undoubtedly it is a straw in tjie wind. "Jardi.no is a good fellow, possessing the most important qualifications for captaincy in ability to get the best out of his ,team. He will not bo fussy, but .He will be effective. The selectors have thus found a skipper and a possible opening batsman to suceoed Hobbs."
