BLEDISLOE LANDSCAPE MEDAL.
A competition in designs for the Bledis]6e Landscape Medal is announced in this •issue. The medal will be the work of' New Zealand artificers, and is to be awarded annually-for the best landscape submitted for exhibition at the annual exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts. The first award will be made in May, 1932. The medal has been presented by His Excellency the Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe for the encouragement. of landscape painting in the- Dominion. Their Excellencies are impressed by the unusual qualities of New Zealand scenery,' and'-it iis their wish to assist in i raising landscape painting to ,a level which will do. justice to the natural beauty of the Dominion.
