The Hutt Valley Harrier and Amateur' .'Athletic Club intends conducting a relay event on 3rd June from.Petone Post Office •to Mnstertou Post Office, a. distance of '5S miles. The team will consist of twelve runners, eleven o£ whom will run five miles.each,-and one three miles. The team will assemble at Petone Post Office at 7.40 a.m. The Mayor of Petone, Mr. D. M'Kenzie, will be present to start the team 'at S a.m., and place a message from himself to the Mayor of Masterton (Mr. Jordan) in the baton which is to be carried throughout the journey. _ Upon arrival at the Masterton Post Office the baton will be handed by the captain of the team to' Mr. Jordan, who later will entertain the team to afternoon tea. The team selected is composed of seasoned runners, and includes the club's veteran, J. Goodall, who is 40 years of age." There-is no intention of trying to put up sensational time for the distance.
