MR. W-F. G. PULLIN

Mr. W. J?. G. l?ullin, who retires from the llailway Department at the cud of May, has liad thirty-six years' service -with the Railways. He served his apprenticeship _at the Addingtou workshops, and on its completion was transferred to Petone. His next move was to Napier, where he remained until lie left .tho'service to participate in the rush to the Coolgardie goldfields, where only severe hardships met hisefforts. He'returned to New Zealand, and' was able to rejoin the service, beiug placed in the Newmarket workshops, Auckland. While in Newmarket, Mr. Pnllin organised an ambulance section, of which he became superintendent, and was also instrumental in. establishing the workshops library, of which he acted as secretary and librarian. In the years irainediately prior to the Great War:.he. filled . the positions of "•secretary arid of -cliafrniuu to tho local branch of tfie Amalgamated Society.', of Railway Servants. !" On his return from the Front he was sent to Greymouth as workshop foreman.
