RAIDS ON LIFE POLICIES

Stock and station firnis which domand farmers' life insurance policies as chattel securities were criticised at the annual conference of the NortU Canterbury Farmers' Union. "There are some financial institutions which' are making systematic raids on life policies. -It is a.very dangerous precedent to be allowed to take place," said Mr. B. A. \Voodfield. He added that life policies wore taken out for the benefit of farmers' wives and children, in case anything befell the; head of the family. ■ He thought the conference should see if anything couia be done to check this insidious practice. .; .• .
