AHRENBERG'S FLIGHT

SWEDEN TO GREENLAND

ARRIVAL ANNOUNCED

REYKJAVIK, 2nd May. A message from Captain Ahrenberg states that he has arrived. Tjic patrol boat Odin has reached the icefield, and lias found a suitable place for the aeroplace to take off. A seaplane from the ship Odin, which also is attempting to rescuo Augustin Oourtauld, of the British Greenland expedition, has returned here owing to defective engines. Captain Ahrenberg, the famous Arctic airman, has made a successful crossing of Denmark Strait —a distance of several hundreds of miles —from Iceland's capital to Angmagsalik, on the eastern coast of Greenland, which has been selected as the base for the rescue operations. Earlier messages from London announced that he reached Thorshaven; in the Faroe Islands, refuelled, and arrived at Reykjavik, Iceland. He flew from Bergen on Ist May. Another flier attached to the Banish fishing inspection chip Odin was transported from Royk.jav.ik in that vessel, the intention being to land him at a point about CO miles from Angmngsnlik..
