POLL NOW NECESSARY
FOR TRAMWAY EXTENSIONS
A ratepayers' petition, signed by over the requisite 5 per cent, of ratepayers, was handed in to the City Council early in the year protesting against (a) the extension along the new street, Bowen street, tho proposed -extension of Bowen street and Sydney street connecting Lambton quay and Tinakori road, (b) tho variation of the duplication of the track in Tinakori road and Glemnore street between Sydney street and Karori tunnel. The petition was forwarded in clue course by the City Council to the Minister of Public Works, who, it _is understood, has now replied to the City Council that a poll of ratepayers will bo necessary before these works can proceed further.
