HAWERA TRACK NOTES

(By Telegraph.) ( (Special to "The Evening Post.") HAWEBA, Tuesday. As most of the liawcra-t rained horses raced last Thursday and Saturday there was little fast work on tho track this morning, useful pace work being the task allotted tho majority. Tho plough track waa used, and was in fast order. Orby's Choico sprinted smartly ovar five furlongs, and his race on Saturday has sharpened him up. Chief Link, Silver 'Bute, and Silvermine all look in .perfect' condition, amd wont well in their exercise. . Peter Jackson and Green Linaiet I sprinted three furlongs attractively. I Paparua and Viven did slow pace work; ,; Goblin Market wont solidly over a couple of Tounds. Bright Glow was assigned only easy exercise. ' TII9 Tqranaki Cup horse Maui was out doing light work, as was also tho Nolan Cup winner, Arikira, who can safely be expected to add to his laurels before the circuit closes. '■■'. Joyspear and Gasnapper, looking none the worse for exertions, were given strong pace work. Banbridge and Paitonu ran five furlongs smoothly. Isa. skipped over a few furlongs. Sho is ill good shape. Tenacre (E. Eobinsou in the saddle) was too good for Winacre (T. Tucker) in a bout over tho schooling hurdles. The latter is a nowcomcr to the jumping business, and will have to improve his jumping before being taken seriously. ■ Kawakiua and Anbridge were given useful paco work. Silvennine and Bright Glow have been scratched for the T.irannki Cup. The bulk of tho visiting horses left .by train on Sunday for New Plymouth, Trainers Moroney, Burgess, Tclford, Mantle, Johnson, and Morris taking teams. Otairi, Democratic, and Jjlandudno went through by float yesterday. 1). Webster's team, and most of the llawera horses are "booked to leave tomorrow. Tho Acre —Myrtle Grove gelding Garrick has been sold to the New' Plymouth sportsman, Mr. J. O'Driscoll,' and will bo tried out over tho hurdles. Kisslcss has been turned out for a good spell. Gowan Lea is also to have a let' np. llawera horses, with four wins and placo money, accounted for £068 of the stake money at the recent meeting. H. Wiggins wil ride Cashier in the laranaki Cup.
