INADEQUATE RELIEF
HASTINGS RESOLUTION
(By .Telegraph.—Press Association.-)'
NAPIER, 24.tjli January. The Hiiwkes Bay Labour Represcn tation Committee-has unanimously car vied the following resolution: _
"The dangerous situation existing in Hastings through unemployment is not appreciated by the public or by tho local unemployment committee. The fact that only £150 has been allotted for the No. 3 scheme, while approximately 300 are registered as unemployed at this moment, when our great seasonal occupations are in full operation, clearly shows the total inadequacy of the relief efforts. This meeting therefore calls upon the Mayor (Mr. G. F. Roach), as the chairman of the Unemployment Committee, to convene a meeting of that body to take action, a's many heads of families, having been out of employment for months, are in desperate circumstances."
