A new one was secured, and the officials agreed on a fresh start at J PAU got well way, led by Auckland, wit !i Lyttelton, Whangarei, Tauranga, Hamil- . ton, Christchurch, Wellington,. Otago, and Manukau in that order. There was^a beat to windward on the first leg, Auckland rounding the mark five or six lengths ahead of Manukau, with Wellington third,,, Lyttelton fourth, and; Hamilton, Christchurch, Otago, Whangarei, and Tauranga. following.
