LATE MR. S.A. LONGUET
LARGELY-ATTENDED FUNERAL
The high regard in which the.late Mr. S. A. Longuet -was held was shown by the. very large attendance at his funeral service at St. Peter's Church, Willis street, on Saturday afternoon. There -was a specially full representation of the business community. Members of local bodies and various other organisations with which he had been connected attended; also the vestry and many of the congregation of St. Peter's-(of which he was a church warden). The service was' conducted by the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprott) and. the vicar (Bey. W. Bullock).. In addition to the service -for "The Burial of the Dead," the hymn "Abide with.Me" was sung, and the organist (Mr. Millward Anderson) played the "Dead March" from Saul. The interment, which was at Karori, was private. The chief mourners were the widow, members of the family, and near relatives. The pallbearers were Messrs. W. Longuet (son), L. >Longuet, J.Longnetl (brothers), Stronach Paterson, H. H. Newton, and C. J. B.
