TEST AT MANLY BATHS
LEGLESS CHAMPIONS FIRST IN
SYDNEY, 25th January. The first batch, consisting of five of the sixty swimmers taking part in the international endurance swim at the Manly baths, entered the water yesterday afternoon. It was steamy and dull weather, but ideal for the purpose. Charles Zimmy, the legless champion of America, and William Morris, Australian, legless title-holder, were the first pair in tho water. Henderson, Williams, and Jefferson followed later. Only five are allowed in the water at one time. Zimmy smoked a cigar while alternately floating and paddling.
