SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS,
Since Saturday barometers have been fairly high, an anticyclone having moved slowly over tho Dominion with its centre to the-northwards. Slight low pressure waves have passed to the south of New Zealand, and the latter h.ive been responsible for some scattered rainfall in the western districts from Taranaki southwards. For the most part, however, the weather was fair to fine during the week-end. Moderate winds"; between south-west and north-west have prevailed, but strong north-westerlies have blown at times from Cook Strait southwards.
