HEAVY STOCK LOSSES

(Received 3.6 th December, noon.) MELBOUBNE, This Day. A storm did heavy damage in the Wimmera and portions of the Mallee districts. Homes in Maryborough arc under water, and have been abandoned. Sheep and cattle have been drowned in great numbers. Crops have been destroyed, and pastures inundated, and railway lines and bridges washed away. Telephonic and telegraphic communications have been dislocated, and numbers of towns thrown into darkness. Flood warnings have been issued at Elmhurst. A flock of sheep in the racecourse reserve was drowned before iti could be moved. Miles of fencing were washed away. The Mary borough towiijship was flooded in a few niiuutcfi. Hailstones of a.v unusual size killed many sheep and. poultry. At Gypsum seventeen, trucks were derailed when j
