AN UGLY SCENE

POLICE USE FORCE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUKCH, This Day, An ugly scene developed in Catihedral Square this morning when the police ordered a meeting of unemployed to be broken up. A struggle took piace between two or three constables and an unemployed leader when the latter persisted iv attempting to address a gathering of over 300. Other constables then had to use force to keep the crowd back. Finally the leader's of the men decided to change the place of the Meeting, and some of them marchod to Victoria Square, where tho gathering was fairly orderly. A banner carried by the men read: "Fools starve; men iight. Wotik or wages."
