RESIDENTIAL NURSERY
WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE
The members of the various branches of the Women's National Eeserve giving help to the, Residential Nursery decide themselves what special need they will supply. It is found that this method answers well and prevents overlapping. The Berhauiporc branch helps with the sewing equipment. The members not only do the sewing but they provide material. This year they have made 220 articles of clothing and house equipment and have also equipped their own ward at the nursery. Various other efforts have been made by this committee which raised £38 5s 8d for the year. At the- annual meeting, Mrs. .Beales was reelected president, and other officers wcro appointed as follows: vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Watt, Moore, and Chatfleld, senior; secretary, Mrs. Collyer (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs. Chatfield; committee, Mesdames Moore, Chatfleld, Williamson, Swainson, M'Millan, Hampton, Barratt, M'Mahon, Marshall, and Jansen. Mrs. Beales and Mrs. Collyer were presented with crystal vases on behalf of the committee, and Mesdames Beales and Porter with bouquets. On behalf of the executive Mrs. Porter thanked all, mentioning their additional help m sending a hamper to the Mental Hospital, in helping on "Rose Day" and "Poppy Day." Afternoon tea was served by the committee and much enjoyed by all. The Melrose branch of the Women's National Eeserve has had a very successful year, £24 Is 6d being raised. This branch provides all the tea used at the nursery, it donated £2 to the Christmas Cheer Fund, and helped in numerous ways. At the. annual meeting officers were elected as follows: — President, Mrs. A. F. Tonks; vice-pre-sident, Mrs. F. Boyd; secretary, Mrs. Brooker; committee, Mesdames Boyd, Zantuck, Harris, Tonks, Brooker, Williamson, Duff, and Lamb. The executive expressed grateful thanks to all for their willing1 and able help, mid their optimistic spirit in facing difficulties.
