BOULDER LAKE POWER SCHEME
(From Our Own Correspondent.) NELSON, 3rd December. At a conference between the Waimea Tower Board and the Nelson City Council last night the board made a proposal to the council by which the city would become a bulk purchaser of the board's power. A guarantee, of £10,000 for ten years was required. A-t the same time the board announced that it was proposed to get its power from Boulder Lake (Takaka district), which aeheme was estimated to cost £160,000. If the city does not join in the scheme the board will undertake a smaller alternativo scheme. At the Havelock Magistrate's Court Eric A. Algar, sawmiller, of Havelock and Wellington, was lined £45, costs £6 14s, for a breach of the Factories Act in that he failed to pay wages to an employee. The sole selector (Mr. T. B. Louisjsou) has chosen the following team to represent Nelson against Marlborough an the Hawke Cup elimination match at Blenheim on Friday and Saturday, 12th and 13th. December: —N. Hawkes (Dovedale), M. Jenkins (Wakefield), A. Newman and K. Lines (Brightwater), K. P. Ealfe, C. A. Kinzett (Athletic), A. Jones, E. Langbein, T. A. Searelle (Wakatn), W. E. Alexander, E. B. Neale (Old Boys).
