CHANCES IN COMMANDS ADMIRALS' APPOINTMENTS • (British Offlcial Wireless.) BUGBY,. Ist December. The appointment has been approved of Admiral Sir Arthur Waistoll to succeed Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Keyea, as Commander-in-Charge at Portsmouth, to date from Bth May next. Bear-Admiral Wilfred Tomkinson has been appointed Bear-Admiral Commanding the Battle Cruiser Squadron, in succession to Vice-Admiral Pound. • Bear-Admiral Astley Bushton has been appointed Bear-Admiral Commanding the Second Cruiser Squadron, in succession to Bear-Admiral Best, both to date from the end of April next. Other appointments announced include that of Bear-Admiral Beinold, who has been appointed Admiral-Super-intendent of the Devonport Dockyards; Bear-Admiral James, to be Bear-Ad-ini*al-in-Charge and Admiral-Superin-tendent of Gibraltar; Bear-Admiral Im Thtirn, to be Assistant Chief of, the Naval Staff; and Bear-Admiral Noble to be Director of Naval Equipment. Admiral Sir Arthur Waistell has been Commander-in-Chief of the China Station since 1929. He is 57 years of age, commanded the Destroyer Flotillas of the Atlantic Fleet from 1922 to 1923, served as Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff in the following year, and later commanded the First Cruiser Squadron. Bear-Admiral Tomkinson has been Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff since 1929, and was in command of H.M.S. Lurcher in the famous action at the Heligoland Bight; also he took part in the Zeebrugge raid. Bear-Admiral Edward Astley Bnshton has been Director of the Mobilisation Department of the Admiralty since 1928. ________
