GOVERNOR OF CEYLON
SIR GRAEME THOMSON APPOINTED
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Ist December. The King has approved of the appointment of Sir Graeme Thomson, Governor of Nigeria, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Ceylon in succession to Sir Herbert Stanley. Sir Graeme Thomson has been Governor of Nigeria since 1925. Ho is 55 years of age, was educated'at Winchester and Oxford, and is a barrister. He entered the Admiralty in 1900, and in December, 1914, he was appointed Director of Transports. From 1917 to 1919 he was with the Ministry of Shipping. He was Colonial Secretary of Ceylon from 1920 to 1922, and from the latter date until 1925 ho was Governor and Commandor-in-Chief of British Guiana.
