UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM. A SOLUTION.
The problem of unemployment during the winter months is engaging the attention of most of the civilised countries of tho world. N.Z. Perpetual Forests, Ltd., are assisting in its solution in New Zealand with their 200 square miles of softwood plantations. The maintenance of these areas, and the planting of further areas, requires the services of approximately 1000 men during tho winter season, and necessitates the paying of nearly £100,000 per annum in wages.
