MECHANIC SERIOUSLY HURT

AUCKLAND, Ist December, i A motor mechanic named William Simmonds, aged 21, of Onehunga, was seriously injured and his companion had a narrow escape from injury when a racing car travelling at 80 miles an hour capsized at Henning's Speedway at Mangore, about 6 o'clock to-night. Tho injured man was taken to Auckland Hospital, where he underwent an operation. His condition last evening was reported as very serious. Tho car somersaulted twice.
