NOTED RIDER ARRIVES
Interesting records of doings on speedways in different parts of the world arc carried by an Australian motor-cyclist, Bert Jones, who arrived ill Wellington this week from a tour of Knglancl and France. Jones is the holder of one of Australia's records, and this oiie-—foi' a lap—^was claimed to bo a world's record for the - particular typo of track. In Franco Jones put up many fine performances on the "dirt" tracks, several of wh.ich are stated to be records for that country. Most of his racing in England last season was done as a West Ham roprqscntative, and ho competed with distinction in numerous special contests in which other leading " brondsiders " of the- world were engaged. It is Jones's intention to compete in New Zealand this season, and he will make a start at Dunedin next Saturday night.
