BOXING

FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

LECKIE LOSES TO ■DONOVAN

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, 30th November. Johnnie Lcekie, of Napier, lost the featherweight title of New Zealand to Tommy Donovan, of Waitara, Taranaki, when they met in an excellent contest in Napier last night. Donovan'?, aggressivencss > won him the title, as he gave the Napier man little opportunity to box, and in in-fighting the challenger was superior, Leckie appeared to be stale, and his movements were listless, most probably as the result of hi* having to take off weight. Donovan, too, had to reduce, but he was very n't, and made the pace throughput. '
