The /Manawatu Croquet Association's tournament was practically concluded on Saturday, only the A grade handicap singles final remaining to ■be played. Mesdames Caldoiv and Butcher (Wellington) won the championship doubles, defeating Mesdames Anstis and Simpson in the final, 26-14. Champion Doubles, Club Pairs.—Semifinals: Mesdames Caldow and Butcher beat Mesdames Gambrill and Litehfield, 26-11; Mesdames Anstis and E. Simpson beat Mr. and. Mrs. Robertson, 26-16. Final: Mesdames Caldow and Butcher (Wellington) beat Mesdames Anstis and E. Simpson, 26-14. Handicap Doubles.—Semi-final: Mr. Robertson and Mrs. Glendinning (5 XA) beat Mesdames Gambrill and Scroggs (o), 26----23. Final: Mesdames Benfell and Simmons (11) beat Mrs. Glendinning and Mr. Robertson (SH), 26-14. B Grade Champion Singles.—Final (best of thi'ee games): Mrs. Benfell (Manawatu) beat Mrs. Bryant (Manakau), 26----15. 26-10. B Grade Handicap Singles.—Final: Mrs. Radford (6) beat Miss Tennant' (7), 26----18. : A Grade Handicap Singles.—Semi-finals: Mrs. Scroggs (4) beat Mrs. Garner (5), 26-14; Mrs. Anstis (2) beat Mrs. Bryan (4%), 26-10.
