SUCCESSFUL AGAIN

DONALD WINS WITH TONIC

'JCouic owed his success in the Sockburn Handicap to his stamina. Making a good beginning he trotted solidly all the way and wore Rose Audo down at the finish. Tonic, who came from Australia, was for some time raced by W. J. Tomkinson, but he has been in C. S. Donald's stable for the last two years. Donald won the main trot on the first day with Writer, who was coupled with Tonic to-day. E. C. M'Dermott has got Rose Audo to stay much better of late. She trotted solidly all the way in the lead, and was only headed off near ;the post by Tonic. She is by Great Audubon from Rosalie, a (rotter who won innumerable races in her day Rose Audo has also become more solid than' in her earlier races.
