KARORI CLUB
For the first time this season the Karori Club fired over SQOyds and 900 yds at Trentham on Saturday. It did not count for the championship, but the usual weekly competition was held. At the beginning of the 800 yds shoot a light realright wind was experienced. It was during this spell that the high scores were made. Shortly after,' however, the wind veered 60 -degrees, and came in very strongly from 2. o'clock. 11. Fraukland was top-scorer for the day with an excellent U-J. Il'. Cliing was two points away for the runner-up. At 800 yds R. D. Potts compiler] a good 49, while H. Frankland had bad luck with his hist shot, which deprived him of the "possible." J. I. King was third with a 4S. At 900 yds P. B. Goldfinch registered a 46, while F. W Ching and 11. Frankland made 45 each. The weekly competition resulted: Scratch man, H. Frankland, 49, 45—94; handicap man, J. I. King, 48, 40, I—SO. Next Saturday the championship will bo continued at 800 yds and 900 yds. This will be the first of the long range series.
