Duncan 05, Newdick 54 not out), beat University, V2(i. Ponsonby, 248 (S. G. Smith 116 not out, Monteith 47) beat V.M.C.A., 103. Eden, 228 for eight, declared, beat Grafton 152 (Sale 70). North Shore scored a remarkable win over United Suburbs. The previous day United Suburbs made 117 and Shore had made 41 for nine. Shore declared and got its opponents-out for 80 (Coates took six for 42). North Shore made 159 for three (Bush 54), and won with seven minutes to spare. CHRISTCHURCH, 9th November. The third round of cricket matches commenced on Saturday. Rain fell early in the day, but it cleared in the afternoon, leaving the wickets slightly softened. Rir.carton, batting: first against Lancaster Park, scored "42 (Jacobs 52, Roberts 75). Bowling, Read took six for 89. Lancaster Park has lost one wicket for 43. Old Boys made 174 against West Christchurch (Hobbs 36, Grose 39, Merritt 38).

I Bowling, Bean took six wickets for 51 and Gihbs four for 45. West Christchureh has lost seven for 134 (Kerr not out 72, \A ard 33). St. Albans, playing East Christchureh, has made 137 (Condliffe 39, Walloon 36). ■ Bowling, Cunningham took seven for 51.
