WESLEY HOCKEY CLUB
The Rev. E. D. Patchett presided over an attendance of about 100 guests at the Wesley Hockey Club's annual banquet, which was held in the Taranaki street hall on Saturday evening. Numerous toasts were honoured, amongst them being one to the visiting Christchureh and Wanganui Wesley' teams. Mr. A. Phillpotts, one of the douors of the Phillpotts Cup, presented the cup to the captain of the successful Wellington team. Items by Miss X Bennett, Mr, J. Watchman, and Mr. L. Buxton were much appreciated. Among the-speakers were Messrs. S. B. Browne and R. H. Boys (the Wellington Hockey Association), Mr. Casey (Referees Association),, and Mr. J. Watchman (Karori Hockey Club). The ladies were thanked i'or their splendid work in making tho banquet such a success. Mr. W. S Butcher, hon. secretary, and Mr. 11. A. Pylc, hon; treasurer, were complimented on their good work for the club. Mr H. Steptoe was tho accompanist. The banquet closed with the National Anthem.
