England, trainer of -Clover Club, engaged Goddard to ride Clover Club in ;i race at the Farm. Overlooking this engagement, Goddard also engaged for Patois in the same race. It was Patois . that Goddard eventually rode. Mr. V. M. AVhite, owner of Clover Club, brought the. matter, under the notice of the stewards. After hearing what Goddard had to say, the stewards suspended him from riding iv races for one month: Tlio suspension will prove costly;,to 'Gpddard, as he had some promising engagements at the Queensland Turf, Club's. Exhibition Meeting this month.; He had intended to leave for Brisbane after the Bank Holiday Meeting at Moorefield." ....
